Memorial Day & More...

I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day.  We had a "party".  Isabella wanted to cook and we invited Grammy over.  She went through her American Girl Cookbooks and picked out a few things to make.  These are the two she has and I would recommend them to anyone who's little girl likes to cook.  I was lucky enough to find them at Border's Book Store on clearance when they were still open.

We made Jam Tart Cookies, Coffee Cake, Parsley Biscuits and Corn Oysters (Corn Fritters).  She choose two from each book.  All four things were very yummy!

A few things that have been happening...

My cousin Angie and her husband, Tony, adopted a baby boy.  They named him Jordan.
What a cutie!

Lily went with me to their baby shower.  Melody helped her eat a cupcake...

The happy family with our gift.

In other news, Isabella lost her first tooth!

You might remember a while back, I posted an article about a woman in Emmaus who does haircuts for children with special needs.  I decided to make an appointment with her to have Raymond's hair cut because the last two times I took him to have it done, he wasn't very cooperative.  Her salon is right off of her home.  When we went in, she had Elmo playing on a laptop for him to watch.  She had asked me over the phone what his likes and dislikes are - regarding everyday things and hair cuts.  Her salon (which does service everyone, not just children) was small, but didn't feel cramped at all.  It was a nice environment for Raymond.  He started off sitting in the chair for her but then decided he wanted to get up.  She allowed him to pretty much do as he pleased.  Part of his hair cut was done in the chair, some he was standing, while part of the time he was laying on the floor.  He even ripped a key off of her laptop and she could have cared less.  The entire process took about an hour and twenty minutes.

After...

Isabella is currently working on a pair of pajama's.  Her sewing machine is acting up a little, so as soon as I get it figured out, she can finish them.  I'll be sure to post pictures on her blog and let you know when I do so.  She is very excited!

Isabella & Lily's New Room

The girls room has been done for a little while but I'm just now getting around to posting pictures of it for you.  My goal was to make it girly but something that can grow with them.  I think I was successful with that.
Isabella (and me) likes to have her and Lily's things match in the room.  I needed new sheet sets and was able to find two cute sets that matched.  These are my favorite...

So, join me on the tour.

The girls helped me make a lot of things for their room, including these initial plaques.

Everyone loves this bean bag chair!

We made the button mirror.

Mirrored closet doors. These have actually been up since before Christmas.  It's funny when I catch Isabella checking herself out in them.  Lily is started to also.  Raymond just likes to make silly faces at himself.

I painted the back of the bedroom door with a magnetic primer so Isabella could put her pictures on it.  Before she was taping her pictures to the wall.  For most people that probably isn't a problem, but honestly, I hated when she did it.  This was my creative solution.  We are in the process of making magnet's out of bottle caps right now for on the back.

I want to make sure you can see the stripes I painstakingly painted.  It was a headache but worth it in the end!

Here is a picture of me for those of you who keep saying they haven't seen a picture of my belly.  There it is at 33 weeks.  I'm wearing my least favorite/flattering maternity jeans.  I don't understand why people take pictures of themselves and post them.  It's weird to me.

Chloe is ALWAYS on Isabella's bed.

Also, Isabella's blog has a new post today.  Please take a look!

Mother's Day

On Mother's Day we had planned to take the kid's to the Lehigh Valley Game Preserve.  When we got to the zoo, there must have been 50 people in line.  They had already been open for about two hours and were just packed.  We decided not to stay and took the kids to Country Junction instead.  I'm glad we did because they got to play outside awhile and it wasn't crowded.

After we were done outside, we went into the store to walk around.  The kids really liked the area with the pets.  Puppies and chicks...you can't go wrong!

I don't have many pictures because my camera battery was very low.
It was a nice day with my babies!

American Girl

On Saturday I took Isabella to our local library for a Mommy and Me afternoon with American Girl Dolls.  Isabella loves her American Girls Dolls!  For a free event, I thought it was really great.  Isabella enjoyed herself.

They had strawberries, grapes, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and ham & cheese sandwiches.
And don't forget dessert!

They had two crafts for the girls to do.  The first was making picture frames.  They took our picture and printed it out right away so Isabella had something to put in it.  (After we got home we put magnets on the back so she could hang it on the fridge.)  The second craft was beaded bracelets.
I've been looking up bus trips to the American Girl store in New York.  I think Isabella would love that.  The bus trip is more expensive then I thought, so it's going to have to wait.  When we finally do get to go, she'll be thrilled.

Tonight, at school, was the elementary art show.  Isabella was excited to have her picture displayed for all to see.

All the kindergartens made sea turtles.

Until Next Time!
