SPLASH!!!

Last Wednesday Isabella asked to go to Hoss's for lunch, so we did.  The three (well two) kids and I can eat there for $9.00.  That includes tipping the waitress.  Isabella ate lots of chicken noodle soup and Lily had peas, ham, red beets and crackers.  Poor Raymond watched but was a very good boy.  Hoss's was busier then I anticipated but school's out now and the farmer's market is on Wednesday's, so maybe that's why.  After lunch we headed over to Jo-Ann Fabric's to buy another pack of bias tape to finish up a project I was working on for Raymond's room. 

We are taking one of Raymond's dressers out of his room to make space for a learning area.  I want his therapist to be able to go into his room with him alone and have a place to work at, unbothered.  There are a few small things left in the dresser that I need to move.  We were at Ikea the other week and saw a bathroom organizer for on the back of a door.  I thought something like that would be nice on the back of Raymond's closet door.  So I decided to make one.  I think it turned out really well considering that I didn't have a pattern and I've never really made anything like it before.  If I had to do it over again, I would put the two larger pockets on the bottom.  I think it's going to work out great!  How long until Isabella asked for one? : )

Thursday I set up the swimming pool. Isabella's been asking to go swimming but it's either been raining, too hot or we had too many other things to do that day. Everyone was very excited. I put the kids bathing suits on them then slathered them up with sunscreen. I put my bathing suit on too. I bought a new bathing suit at Ross and I love it! I never thought I would say that about a bathing suit but I really do love it...and it was only $17.99. Yay for me! : )  

 This was the best pre-swimming group shot I was able to take.  At that point, no one wanted to sit still to have their picture taken.

The pool was still filling up with water when the kids got in.  They didn't want to wait anymore! 

We stayed outside in the pool for awhile.  Raymond was having a hard time keeping warm towards the end because he kept standing up and sitting down.  It's difficult for him to understand that if he stays sitting in the water he would stay warmer.  We played, splashed and had fun!

After Daddy got home, we went to That Pet Place in Lancaster.  Isabella needed some new plants for her fish tank and Daddy will use any excuse to go there.  The kids all love it too.

Lily liked looking at the cats.  I took her over to the birds and she kept pointing back at the cats and saying "Dadt!" (that).

 Raymond was asleep for awhile when we first got there. 

He was happy when he woke up at the pet store.

Okay Grandma and Grandpa...do you see this sign?  Look familiar?  The 8,000 lizards running around your yard are on sale at That Pet Place for $6.49 each.  You could catch a bunch and make a fortune!  Isabella will help!

About 4:30 in the morning on Friday, we had a horrible storm.  Debris from the storm hit the kids pool and it was a goner.  We searched all weekend for a new one.

Lily has discovered why string cheese is called string cheese.  If she gets a hold of a piece and it pulls all the way down, she squeals, laughs and shoves it in her mouth.  She is so cute!!!

 On Sunday Lily woke up with a 103.5 degree fever. The poor thing just laid around and didn't move. I was able to get her to eat a Greek yogurt frozen popsicle that evening. Her fever hasn't gone away yet. Hopefully she feels better soon. Poor baby!

Fashion

My sweet Isabella is obsessed with fashion.  All she seems to ever talk about is becoming a fashion designer, having fashions shows, drawing new "inspirations" and going to Paris.  She even called Grandpa and asked him if he would take her to Paris one day when she is older.  When he asked why, she told him that Paris is where fashion designers go.

I googled "Paris Fashion" and these were some of Isabella's favorite pictures.

She told me she likes the outfit but not the hair in this picture.

If you ask Isabella what she likes to design, she will tell you cocktail dresses.  She will also tell you she wants to go to Parson's when she's older.

I'm not sure were her love of fashion comes from.  I do like to watch Project Runway and Isabella is glued to the TV when it's on.  Chris also found the Chic Channel on Hulu and has been watching fashion shows with her on the weekends when I'm at work.  (What a nice Daddy!)

I've also showed Isabella some of the sites to see in Paris.  These are her favorites...

Hey Grandpa!  Isabella is telling EVERYONE that you are taking her to Paris.

When she wins her first CFDA award, she'll be sure to thank you for all her Paris inspiration. 

But, no pressure!

Daddy found this at Ross for $2.99.  We hung it on her bedroom door.

We also found the Eiffle Tower! I shouldn't say we because it was Isabella who found it. I walked right past it.  She all but yelled in the middle of Target.  She asked if she could get it for on her dresser.  Luckily for me it was on clearence for $4.98 because I would have felt bad saying no.

Vacation: Part 5

One thing that is so nice about my Aunt Shirley's house is that she has a lot of property and few neighbors.  The kids loved playing outside and on her enclosed porch.  Isabella and Raymond were constantly looking for things to go into their bug/critter house. 

Daddy is very good at catching things.

After a lot of playing, Raymond tired out and had to sit down.

My nanny used to live in the house behind us.  Right across the street.

 My Uncle Bo took us to a horse farm and rescue to watch the show practice.  They will be leaving for New England for several months in June.  The owner's allow people to watch the practices and take donations for the horses.  The kids really liked it.

Raymond watched closely.

Raymond was applauding.

The show consisted of all stallions.  After the show, we walked out behind the stables and looked at the mares.

 

This one kept trying to eat Raymond's shoe.

After looking at the mares, and saving Raymond's shoes, we went into the stables to look at the stallions that were in the show.

Isabella liked Maximus.  She was exciting that she met Rapunzel and a white horse named Maximus in the same week!  (You'll understand if you've ever seen the movie.)

Raymond sure did love his great-great Aunt Shirley.  He kept hugging and kissing her.

We left Aunt Shirley and Uncle Bo's house early Friday morning.  We headed back to Grandma and Grandpa's house to spend the night.

In the car on the way, Raymond was trying to put on Lily's shirt.

Lily was asleep, so she didn't mind.  (Again, Daddy took this picture, hence the finger in the corner.)

After we ate dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house we went to Rely for Life.

Isabella got a butterfly tattoo.

Raymond got a pirate skull and crossbones tattoo.  It made his scrawny arm look very tough.  We were trying to get him to say, "Arghhh!"  He just looked at us like we were crazy and laughed!

Grandma got one too.  Hers was a ladybug.

The next morning we headed home.  We didn't hit rain until we got to Virginia.  Then is was raining and cold.  We almost made a u-turn and went back to Florida!  We all had such a nice time.  Hopefully we can go back soon.
